We are searching for a Food Prep Manager to produce a range of FTG and Sandwich fillings within our Avonmouth operation.

The ideal candidate have experience within food manufacturing or FMCG.  We are looking for a skilled leader who can deliver materials on time and in full at required the quality and budgeted cost.

The Role:

  • Management of labour, materials, waste, health and safety, quality and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) to agreed standards through your team.

  • Ensure knowledge and understanding of to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and be a role model in adherence to these

  • Driving performance and accountability in line with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) whilst utilising various operational and people-based systems to manage information

  • Have a strong focus on developing people through ensuring training compliance for each member of the team, support others with personal development and the ability to effectively manage a succession plan.

  • Own and lead the daily production meeting, reporting on area results and driving actions.

  • Attend cross-functional meetings with wider teams providing valuable contributions whilst identifying areas of improvement.

  • Liaise with senior management as required on all key issues concerning production, quality, health and safety and customer service

  • Take direct responsibility for the performance, training and development of Supervisors/Team Leaders

  • Lead, support and involve your team in relevant site wide initiatives and projects.

  • Lead a team in a fast paced manufacturing operation

The candidate:

  • Previous experience in a Shift Manager or Days based role managing a multi-skilled Production team in a manufacturing environment – preferably Food or FMCG.

  • Experienced in continuous improvement and able to create an environment where team members consistently push for improved team performance and productivity.

  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills and coaching skills – be passionate about people and their development.

  • Able to develop trust, respect open communication within the team as well as be willing to face challenging situations

Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • Demonstrable management experience, ideally within a food manufacturing environment.

  • Uses own initiative with good time management

  • Strong and confident leader

  • Proven track record of managing a team to deliver business targets

  • Quality focused

  • Able to implement and manage change

  • Good attention to detail and numbers

  • Good decision maker and problem solver

  • IT literate

  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, procedures and technical knowledge

Desirable

  • HACCP Level 3

  • Food Safety Level 3

  • ILM or equivalent 1st line management qualification

  • IOSH
