As the Food Preparation Supervisor, you will be responsible that all subordinate employees carry out their activities effectively with adherence to company standards. You will lead other members, co-ordinate their tasks, train and motivate them, to meet daily targets.

Full-time

Schedule: 5.00 - 14.00 ( Sunday - Thursday )

Responsibilities include:

Labour and Ingredients Control

  • To ensure adherence to targets and plans, identifying root cause for not achieving targets and taking remedial action. Analysis and trending of downtime to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Report any material rejections trends and resolve/ escalate where appropriate.

  • Measure and closely monitor material usage to ensure waste and give away is within tolerance and allowable shelf life.

  • Effective labour management in line with production plans.

  • Ingredient’s control – checking quality, ensuring the products are used according to FIFO rules.

People Performance and Development

  • Ensuring effective communication to team and other departments.

  • Monitoring timekeeping, attendance, and performance, ensuring completion of RTW interviews and escalation of issues when needed.

  • Identification and development of key skills within the area to ensure succession planning.

  • Supporting new starters to integrate into the area and ensure they understand expectations and Work in progress area.

  • Ensuring compliance with HR policies and ensuring disciplinary and grievance policies are followed where necessary.

Quality and Food Safety

  • Quality and Food Safety.

  • To be responsible for product quality, technical integrity, and food safety through GMP, adherence to specification and process controls.

  • To maximise GMP performance for the area escalating any issues outside of your control with proposed solutions as appropriate.

  • To assist with quality investigations as required.

  • Ensuring start-up and end of shift checks are done.

Health Safety

  • Lead by example with the Health and Safety within area and ensuring team adherence to H&S policies and procedures.

  • To support in the generation of Risk Assessments and SSOW.

  • Proactive identification of H&S hazards, supporting and ensuring that all actions are closed off on time including corrective actions following incidents/audits/accidents.

  • Supporting with training on SSOW and SOP’s.

Essential

  • Team Leader or management experience.

  • Ability to develop and coach a team of direct reports.

  • Experience of driving and delivering targets and KPI’s.

  • People Management skills.

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, able to drive changes and sustainable improvement.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility.

  • Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene.

  • Understanding of the fundamentals of food production and HACCP controls.

  • Supervisory experience ideally in FMCG and ideally with a minimum of one year within chilled food environment.
