Seeking a highly skilled engineer (electrically qualified, 17th edition) who enjoys thinking on their feet and solving problems with a methodical approach. Our environment is fast paced, and we are investing in our technology, so flexibility is key to be successful.

Reporting into the Site Manager this role will require an experienced Multiskilled Engineer to operate within a fast-paced food production environment. The role is hands on, ensuring that all onsite manufacturing machinery and equipment runs safely, smoothly and reliably plus provide a proactive and reactive maintenance service, working both on mechanical and electrical systems.

Full-time / including weekends

Schedule: Depending on Business Needs

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure breakdowns are addressed and repaired in a timely manner, deliver equipment preventative maintenance schedule to avoid machine downtime.

  • Willing to engage with a changing work environment which will involve shift work.

  • Maintenance on automated and conveying systems.

  • Working with electronic/electrical systems.

  • Respond to requests/ needs to maximise production ‘up time’ according to given priorities.

  • Worked in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

  • Implement solutions to help improve machine reliability and quality issues.

  • Complete all necessary documentation ensuring that it is kept accurate and is audit ready.

Required experience:

  • Electrical bias, with supporting qualifications (must be 17th edition trained).

  • Food Manufacturing Experience.

  • Experience in installation and commissioning of new equipment.

  • Current experience/qualification (HNC or equivalent) in a related engineering discipline.

  • Experience in the overhaul, repair and modification of manufacturing equipment and pneumatic systems.

  • Comply with food safety standards and controls to ensure all work is carried out correctly and safely.

  • Knowledge of CNC and controlled systems would be desirable.

  • Team working and flexibility with an open attitude.

  • Capable of effective prioritisation of tasks and personal time management.

  • Able to work unsupervised and prioritise their own time and activities.

  • Have strong analytical skills supporting fast and effective problem solving.

  • Able to demonstrate a proven ability in trouble shooting and recovering equipment in a dynamic environment.
